Spread Love & Accept Love

As my tiny Dutch world is cooling down again and the trees are getting bare and grey, I have picked up my most reliable source of entertainment: books. I’m all about reading and losing myself in a fictive world, where I don’t have to worry about my own struggles and insecurities, especially when the weather doesn’t allow you to enjoy a nice stroll outside.
Reading changes your perspectives and urges you to think in a way you don’t usually do, because you’re not usually able to look inside the mind of anyone but yourself. I never understand the people that say they don’t like reading, because reading is like a treasure hunt for me. You look for the jewels and once you’ve found one, it will change the way you look at the world and the people surrounding you forever, which is one of the best gifts someone –fictional or not- could give me.
If you’re not a reader however, don’t be afraid. This post will not be about the books I’ve read. I won’t be hyping about my favourite authors (although Jojo Moyes is steadily becoming one of them) or discuss my favourite book genre. I’d just like to share some ponderings about life, love, friendship, and all that good stuff.

Fitness Friday: Track & Field Deflowering

(English version below! figured I could just as well write a dutch version, since most of you are Dutch anyway..)

Get festival ready with me!

It's the season! Everywhere around us photos of girls with flower crowns, extravagant braids, maxi dresses and cropped tops are popping up. It's festival time.
Everyone (yes admit it) loves it, but sadly not everyone is able to go because festivals are pretty damn expensive. If you are going, however, you have got to make sure you're well prepared.. you don't want to be the good looking greeny that took everything but the stuff that is essential. Most festivals have a weekend and a day option. I've been to both, and enjoyed both very much, so I thought why not share a few tips and tricks with you?

Fitness Friday: the joys of running!

Hello!

Some of you might not know this, but I'm quite the sportswoman. I've been a professional swimmer for most of my pre teen/teenager years, and after that I've switched to running. This is why today I'd like to introduce a new topic on this blog: Fitness Friday! I think doing sports is one of the most important things in life, and I hope these posts can motivate you to work out a bit more as well!

March Favourites!

Hello again!

Spring has been hiding from me, showing me only rain and lots and lots of wind, but March has officially passed tomorrow, so it's time to tell you my favourite things of this month. Since I haven't done a favourites blog in February (i know, i know), this month's one is from lovely Feb as well. Let's get started, shall we?

Sitback Sunday: update!

Hi there gorgeous, how’s it going?

As you might have realized by now, I’m not exactly good at writing blogpost on a regular basis. Life is known to sweep me off my feet and carry me around for months, without me even realizing actual time is flying by. I’ve been pretty busy lately, traveling, celebrating my birthday, working on uni stuff and board stuff.. I didn’t sit still. So today is another Sitback Sunday, where I will share my thoughts and photos of the last couple of weeks, so that we’re all on the same page again, haha!

Sit-back Sunday: connections

Hello there! I felt like writing a book today, but since I’m leaving for Romania tomorrow (when this is up I will have been there for 2 days already!) I thought I’d write a blog-post instead. I hope you’re doing alright, has March been treating you well so far?

As I hope all of you know, and if not I will most definitely write something about it in the future, every November is National Novel Writing Month. I’ve tried to win NaNoWriMo three times now, and only finished one time, but the idea of last year’s entry is still stuck in my head. I’ve been thinking about it a lot again this week, so I thought, why not write a little philosophical post about it?! This is also a nice welcome to one of my new themes on this blog, Sit-back Sunday. I think it’s great to sometimes just sit back and look at all you've accomplished, or to appreciate all that live keeps in its dark hidden cupboards you keep forgetting to look in. All the little things in live are so beautiful, but sometimes you’re just too bust living it to actually enjoy it. So yes, Sit-back Sunday!

January Favourites!

Hello there lovely, did you enjoy your first month of the year? January was a good month for me, it even gave me snow! I've been loving the sound of snow crunching beneath your boots for so long now, and this month was the first time in ages that I could really enjoy it again (I even built a snowman, YAY!)

From now on, I'm going to do a favourites post every end of the month. I feel like I don't appreciate the nice things i buy enough, and a blogpost like this gives me the perfect opportunity to rummage through my stuff and discover all the beauty that is in my life, ahah!

How to do it: self-reflection

Hello lovely, how’s winter treating you?! I just got back from the cold outside and my hands are completely numb, so typing isn’t going too fluent right now.. The cold definitely bothers me sometimes! (10 point for you if you got that reference)

BOOK TAG: reading habits

Hello lovely! Have you already locked yourself up in your room to avoid the horrendous weather? The wind and rain is really getting on my nerves, and I find myself seeking for excuses to stay inside just a bit longer every morning. The best excuse for me is books. As you might have guessed, I love books. I started around the age of 4 (not exaggerated, I skipped 2nd grade because of this!) and never stopped. So today I thought, why not do one of the many book tags that are out there? I want to focus more on books on this blog, since I appreciate them so much, and feel like books are way underrated.  So yes, let’s hop onto this train and get started, shall we?

Looking back: 2014

Hello there little lovely soul, happy 2015! I hope you are feeling pumped and ready to go for another year, and if you’re not, I hope things will get better for you soon. I am being proper excited for this year, I have a feeling it’s going to be a good one. Today I wanted to talk about the lovely 2014. A little reflection on the past year, so that I won’t forget the marvellous things that have happened in 2014. This post is going to be about me, with a lot of rambling and a lot of personal information, so if you’re not up for that you should probably leave right now. If you are one of those drama-suckers, feel free to leave your 2014 story down in the comments ;).
